The Weekend of August 26th.

The Weekend : Aug 26th.

In an attempt to add more to my blog with a personal touch as some would put it, I am going to let everyone in on what I do on the weekend without giving away too much:) I of course find my weekends usually quite interesting and so I naturally expect you to feel the same way, but if not well then I don’t know what to tell ya. Maybe you can share your weekend and we’ll have a grand old time. So anywho, here is the weekend #1….check her out

When I am piling through the week, I am always thinking about what I am going to do on my glorious days off. I mean I look forward to weekends now as a young adult in the same way I did when I was in grade school and high school….but even more so. College was different because sometimes I only had close 3 days a week and other times I would get out of class at noon or something so I had a lot of free time to do other things. Did I mention I truly miss college and I loved it so?? Ya ok so anyways, now that I am a “working professional” my weekday time is pretty much from 6pm to 11pm giving me less than half my day to do what I want to do, while most of the day is spent doing what someone else wants me to do. So what did I do??

Friday: The first day of feeling like you are free. Ah I loves me Fridays…work just seems less painful doesn’t it? So I got of work around my normal time and wasn’t already on the phone with my bruv (bro) Carlos. We had a pretty good weekend last week so we figured we would start it off good again this weekend. We planned on going to a bar called Bruno’s in the mission as it had become our spot awhile ago and we like to get back to it everyone now and again. There is usually a great vibe and good music, plus its a big enough place that you can explore and walk around. So I met up with Carlos and his friend Lou who was having a birthday party the next night. We drank a few starters (yuck!), put on an episode of entourage and began our night. I am sure this scenario will play itself out again, so look for it. Drinks, Entourage and then Carlos puts on Umbrella and we are ready to go out. We head out to Bruno’s via cab from Haight and arrive around 11:20 or so, don’t quote me. Bruno’s tends to be a little quiet at first and the crowded around 12. Now if San Francisco had a 4am last call instead of 2am this would be great eh? Anyways, so it starts to pick up and we are dancing and exploring the scene. I guess the objective most of the times at these places is to meet other people. I personally like to dance so while yes I am there to explore opportunity I am going to have a good time either way. So we meet up with a lovely group of gals and after a few chats head upstairs to the “Cat Lounge” or something for some dancing. Oh I forgot to mention, throughout the night I tend to go to Bar #2 downstairs cause there is a regular bar tender gal there who is probably one of the nicer more genuine bar tenders I have met. So if you are at Bruno’s, hit up the smaller bar by the kitchen and the lovely lady there will take care of ya! Anyways, so we are dancing the night away and before you know it the lights are on and we are heading outside. We walk down mission for awhile and all 6 of us pile into 1 small cab to get back to Carlos’s house. (Me, Carlos, Lou and 3 gals). Oh I forgot to mention Al was at Bruno’s with us to, but he met us there and rode his bike back :) So we get back to the house finally and of course switch on Entourage and relax. Eventually people start to trickle off and around 3:45 or so I decide to head home. I mean, I love hanging out but I would much rather sleep in my own bed and its worth the $10 dollar cab right back….

Saturday: I woke up Saturday feeling refreshed actually. Even after a great night out coming home and sleeping in my bed made all the difference. I slept until about 11 then got up and started my daily routine. This usually consists of taking a shower, putting on some clothes and plopping down in a comfortable chair for some Saturday TV. haha, I’m JK! I am way more active than that usually but on this particular Saturday I was waiting to be picked up to head out for my cousins Pizza Party. No, this is not my younger cousin, but my older cousin who just happens to be pregnant! She was having a family get together out in San Bruno so I headed out there with my parents and grandpa. I always have a great time hanging out with my family so getting together with my cousins always puts a smile on my face. We decided to go against what we usually do and ordered Pizza for dinner, of course my Aunt couldn’t just have pizza so she made some chicken and rice as well as deserts! We had a great time hanging out, watching several sports including the 49ers preseason game, the Giants and some US women’s soccer. After dinner and some chats about things that family talks about, my group headed back just in time for me to change out of relaxing clothes into something a little more flashy for my friends birthday party thing at Dragon bar.
I get home and change quickly for Dragon bar and then head out early around 10pm. I usually don’t go out nearly this early but in order to get into the club without a cover we had to arrive before 10:30 apparently. So I meet up with everyone and we get there and get in around 10:20….of course the place is DEAD. haha. I mean there are a few groups and the ratio is great but saying there are 25 girls and 10 guys isn’t saying much:) We have a few drinks and then things start to pick up. The ladies from the night before came again tonight, and by now around 11:30 the club was getting crowded and the music was turning up. We had a lot of fun dancing and partying like one should on a birthday night. The music tonight was great, and once my roommate Nick came everything was groovy :P haha. I think that word is funny. So without burning to many details we had a few drinks and danced and chatted with new people and it was a lot of fun. After the night was over at the club Nick and I went our way and stopped at Chesters for some Philly Cheese Steak sandos. We split one as I know getting more than that is calling for trouble. We then walked to find a cab and when we came upon one a girl carrying 2 large pizzas asked if she could get a ride a few blocks away. Seeing as we were 2 young, hungry, and a little tipsy guys we struck a deal that she could ride with us for some pizza:P haha. So we took her from what I can remember about 4 blocks, grabbed some pizza and headed home. After all our eating and finally relaxing at home watching Sportscenter we crashed for the night.

So far, great weekend!

Sunday: Sunday is historically the most calm of the weekend days. Friday you work usually but at night you party because you have no worries in the morning and Saturday…well Saturday is just a great day all around. Sunday you have to get ready for the week, relax your body and just get back to ground zero after the high you have been on all weekend. I slept in rather late until around noon. Again, I felt pretty good…and a very comfortable night sleep even with a few great dreams thrown in. I got a message from Carlos to see what was going on that day. We decided to hit up a movie around 5pm. So I waddled around the house mostly, made myself some food and checked my emails. I then got ready to go out and see the movie with Carlos at the Metreon. We had decided on Stardust. I checked out a preview of it online and it looked interesting. We meet up and head out to the movie. Now when purchasing our tickets we decided to use those automated machines. Now they give you the option of purchasing Adult ($10.50) Child ($7.50) or Senior ($6.50). Now, how much different can the tickets really be? So I said whatever, I am going to buy a Child ticket because well I just think $10.50 to see a movie is just plain stupid. So expensive in fact that this movie is only the 4th I have seen at a theater in more than 2 years!! Anyways, with my Child ticket I browsed the ticket checkers and picked out the teenager in high school. He didn’t even miss a beat, in for a 30% discount…there ya go. We saw a few pretty good movie previews, as they are still one of my favorite parts of going to the movies. Some movies I may actually see, so long as child tickets don’t reach $10 dollars ;) So the movie itself was actually good. The cast was great and the story was easy to follow. While a bit cheesy, and at its heart a sappy love story I thought it could be entertaining for many. I would encourage one to bring a date possibly to see it, but I was content enough with Carlos…haha. After the movie we went our separate ways and I enjoyed the rest of my evening at home relaxing. I could a great dinner for myself and shared some Nachos that my Greg and Karen made.

Overall I would say it was another great weekend. Until next Friday!….

Ciao Ciao
