The Spread of Un-Happiness
November 28th, 2007 by eduardo
Hey All,
I am not going to say that I am going to be posting a lot more now since I am still just as busy as ever but lets make it a Christmas deal that I will at the very least try and make small posts. I have tons I would love to speak about but maybe not for 3 pages like I usually do. Maybe this 2-5 sentence posts are really where it’s at. Speaking of Christmas, I wanted to just express how I felt about the season and the unfortunate events where others try to deter from what I think it really means. First of all we obviously just got past Thanksgiving here in
Now, a lot of people would gravitate towards calling the people who wait in those lines and try and buy things on sale idiots, or losers. We automatically label them as mindless shopping drones and subjects or examples of this horrible capitalist system we are now all apart of. I admit that I am not one of the people waiting in line and definitely one of the people who chooses not to take part in the shopping day but instead relaxes are spends the time on other activities I feel I would enjoy more.
Before I get to far off topic and write a book like I usually do, let me track back to my first sentence, what I feel Christmas is about. Now obviously we all know Christmas has its religious background which many would argue should be first and foremost. I was raised catholic so of course I have all of that in mind, but when I think Christmas that is not the first thing I think about. To me, Christmas is Happiness. Christmas is a season of love and joy and spreading of great feelings. It is warm, colorful, bright and incredible time when you can actually feel the emotion spreading through people.
I guess my reason for the post is I feel that Christmas can easily be tainted not by those standing in lines to shop for the people they love, or for the people who may not think of the religious aspects but by those who try and steal away their happiness by saying that what those people are doing is wrong. Not only do these people already fill themselves with negative emotion but they try and push it onto everyone else.
So here is my request to everyone out there. For this Christmas season, try not to think of what could be better, brighter or more beautiful. Instead, think of all that is great, wonderful and makes you happy. Trust me, no matter how much you dislike anything there are things you can be thankful for and thinking about those things will make it a holiday to remember.
Sorry for Rambling a lot J
