Hello all,
We are now in the new year and things are getting off to a blazing start. I hope everyone enjoyed christmas and nye, as I had an awesome break from the grind of everyday life and had a great time relaxing over the holidays. I won’t get to much into all of my family times or the night out on nye as they, while exciting, were more personal times!! haha. Anyways, what I really wanted to touch on was my new found enjoyment in Rock Band, and what it has done for me…Not that long before the New Year I was struck by the bug and needed to purchase not only Rock Band but also Guitar Hero III for my Playstation 3 video game system. These two games also come in the Wii and X360 varieties of course but I was not a fan of the less than awesome sound and video on the Wii and the X360 I use is not my own so I won’t be purchasing anything for it until I am in the position to purchase my own system. Anyways, lets get back to the games. There is a large arguement goign around over which game is better, Rock Band or GH3. I guess this question is really up to the user and how the games are used. In this humble bloggers opinion they can live in harmony for many reasons but they also but heads for other reasons. The most obvious comparison is going to be in the guitar playing for either game as both share that feature.
The GH3 guitar is of much better quality as reports wide spread of faulty Rock Band guitars spread the land but the buttom placements are of personal opinions.
The playlists also can be thrown up for grabs and with the ability to purchase even more songs makes that even harder to decide.
The gameplay is very similiar in both, where I gift the nod to GH3 for better graphics and a nicer layout.
So far GH3 has more nods than Rock Band. It has a better guitar controller, and better graphics and layout while sharing the ability to battle, and co-op as well as play online and download more songs. So why does Rock Band get the title of my post? I hope that answer is simple.
Rock Band stands up well against GH3 in the guitar department, even though it falls short in a few areas. What makes up for this of course is the inclusion of a microphone for singing, and of course the all too popular drum set. And more importantly than all that, the ability to sit there with 3 other friends and jam out in your fake rock band with all your hearts desire!!!
Just recently, I had the pleasure of falling upon two other aspiring rock band players and when we got together what came out was “The SWEET Ade”. The name has a hidden meaning, but all you need to know is that we bring it to your momma with style and power and we don’t hold back.
haha. As you can see, the ability to play with a few friends has become insanely fun in Rock Band, unlike many other games. I have played in many other multi-player games on many platforms and this is the first that we actually schedule times to get together and rock out. Some might call that lame, even a little sad. But to those people who obviously have no friends or sense of fun….I say that you, I enjoy my Rock Band practices and competitions and I am not ashamed!!
